North Western Railway officials announced additional steps on Wednesday (January 3) to address the impact of dense fog on rail traffic.
The spokesperson for the North Western Railway highlighted the special arrangements made by the Indian Railways to facilitate safe operations in sections grappling with dense fog. Guidelines have been issued by various departments, including engineering, signal and telecommunication, electrical, mechanical, operation, and safety, emphasising the importance of maintaining safety standards during adverse weather conditions.

To enhance visibility for locomotive pilots, Kiran outlined specific measures implemented by the North Western Railway. Repainting of signals has been carried out, along with installing bright signboards and ballasts near signals. These initiatives aim to provide clear visual cues and improve the overall visibility of signals, ensuring that train operations remain secure and efficient despite the challenging weather conditions.
