On Tuesday, Members of Parliament (MPs) proceeded to the new Parliament building after bidding farewell to the old building built during the colonial period.At the Central Hall of the Old Parliament building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed members of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. After that, PM proceeded outside.PM Modi also proposed that the new building be called ˜Samvidhan Sadan”.Led by the prime minister, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Nitin Gadkari were among other parliamentarians who walked from the old building to the new building.The Members of Parliament raised slogans of ˜Vande Mataram” and ˜Bharat Mata ki Jai” as they walked.Here are some photos of the historic occasion.
