On Monday, on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the sacred shrine Golden Temple was illuminated. The festival is also known as Gurpurab.It is a holy festival that marks the birth anniversary of the first guru of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev. He was also the founder of Sikhism.The celebration is well known for its fervent devotion, spiritual gatherings, and the recitation of hymns from the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism.Annually, the auspicious occasion is held on the full moon date of Kartik month, also known as Kartik Purnima.
